UL Mutual gives its advisors a heads-up on what’s new for back to school!

Drummondville, September 11, 2018 – UL Mutual invited some 70 guests from the Toronto area this morning to present what’s new this fall. The line-up includes Early Learning, a brand new product for 0 to 12-month-olds offered free of charge for one year together with a fee refund program, as well as Adaptable B-500, which is making a strong comeback for a limited two-month duration.

More than 70 participants from various MGA firms gathered at The Paramount Event Centre in Woodbridge, Ontario in the company of President and CEO Christian Mercier. “At UL Mutual, one of our greatest strengths is listening to the needs of our advisors and responding promptly to meet those needs,” said Julie Michaud, Senior Vice-President, Individual Insurance and Investment & Retirement at UL Mutual. Certain products have been enhanced or brought back for a limited time in response to market demand, while a brand new program for 0 to 12-month-olds is being added to the UL Mutual product line-up.

AdapCI 20 payments now available at any age
UL Mutual is transforming AdapCI into an exclusive juvenile product! Now available in 20 payments from age 0, Child AdapCI covers 31 illnesses and pays a monthly benefit in the event of extended disability. In addition, with AdapCI, insureds have access anytime and at no charge to the personalized assistance services of Assistel and to the Best Doctors network.

Early Learning, an insurance program for newborns, free of charge for one year
To build its presence among young families, UL Mutual has developed a new insurance program called Early Learning, offering protection for infants 0 to 12 months old. This program provides coverage of up to $2,500 in the event of natural death and $10,000 in the event of accidental death. The program also covers accidental dismemberment up to $50,000, accidental fracture up to $250, and reimbursement for certain medical expenses up to $1,500. The policy is free of charge for the first year and includes a lovely plush toy for the newborn. It can then be renewed at a cost of $1.50 per month for subsequent years.

Fee refund for family members
For 12 months after covering a child under the Early Learning program or the Juvenile 30/100 product, immediate family members can benefit from a fee refund, applicable the first year of enrolment, on other UL Mutual insurance products. The refund is $25 on the first policy purchased, $50 on the second, and $100 on the third and additional policies.

Easier insurability requirements
In September 2017, UL Mutual broadened the guidelines as regards accessibility to tele-interviews. This year, UL Mutual is cancelling the CGE requirements for certain combinations of age and amount.

Adaptable B-500 back for a limited time
For a limited two-month duration, UL Mutual is bringing back Adaptable B-500, which offers an increased cash value equal, for example, to 50% of the paid-up coverage amount at the attained age of 65 years old, provided the policy is paid up at age 65. This strong comeback, applicable on newly underwritten policies, responds to a growing need from the Ontario market in particular.
